Pretty Glitter Court Heels are Pretty and Glittery

I first saw these purple shoes on Schuh’s website and I literally gasped. It’s well documented that I am susceptible to shiny objects and bright colors so these shoes are clearly made for me. Lately I have been trying to cut back on super high heels, and while these shoes are around five and a half inches high the fact that they are thick makes it okay for me. Or maybe I'm just very good at rationalizing. One of those.

See? Thick and glittery

I was looking at them and thinking there is nothing that can improve these shoes. How could such a thing even be possible?

And then I saw that they came in green, yep that'll do it. Another gasp. And while the black didn’t cause any audible reactions they are definitely very pretty, just like their name suggests.

The Pretty Glitter Court Heel is available at Schuh's for 65 pounds which the Googles tells me is just over 103 dollars.

May 16th, 2011: Be nice to your little siblings!

So, my sister isn't very happy with me today. See, not only did I ask to borrow her shirt, I also asked her to take a picture of me wearing it. I'm a horrid person, I know. See, she's at the end of her senior year of high school and thus is in the middle of crunch time, i.e.: trying to finish up seven different papers that were assigned weeks or even months ago that she hadn't "gotten around to" writing yet. Which, as I'm sure all us students and former students know means "I figured I had plenty of time to write it so I didn't start until mere days/hours before it was due."

Asking her to take my picture actually necessitated bargaining.
"Please Vivi, just one photo?"
"Why?"
"Just because. Could you please just take it?"
"Zoe I'm busy here."
"The camera is all charged and sitting right next to you, could you just point and click?"
"This paper is due tomorrow!"
"You are aware that in the time we've spent arguing about this you could have shot like five pictures."
"*grumblemumblegrrr*
Thus I got her to take my picture and knew not to ask her to take another one when it turned out ridiculously blurry. Also, my kitchen is awesome because it is on a diagonal.

Oh, and the reason I haven't done any of these before now? Well, I had taken like three weeks of photos like three months ago but I didn't upload them because I lost the cord to my camera (I do that a lot). And then, I found the camera cord and totally meant to upload the pictures when I accidentally left the freaking camera on the Septa R5 train. My mother's camera has been busted for a while but is finally fixed. This is why I can finally begin participating in Shoeperwoman's shoe challenge only, oh,three months late. Go me!

I'm going to attempt to butter my sister up later to take a picture that is in focus. I guess it's kinda good that this one is all blurry because I forgot to put on makeup this morning and I've got a zit forming on my forehead.

Blue Button Down:  H&M by way of my little sister
Tank Top: Target
Jeans: Target
Shoes: Betsey Johnson by way of Karma Loop
Necklace: Forever21

Valentino Does Sexy

If I was asked to define sexy I would use these shoes as a visual aid. Look at them, just look. The graceful and classic silhouette, the sky high five inch heel, the delicate and elegant bow and, most of all, the peek-a-boo lace styled upper. I think all over lace shoes are the foot fetishist version of a burlesque show- they show just enough skin to titillate and excite but all the while remaining demure.

These shoes are the first cousin of the pink Valentino shoes I declared the most fabulous shoes ever in my very first post. By the way, though these shoes give those ones a run for their money, I’m going to stand by that statement.

If you are entranced as I am as well as richer you can buy these at Saks for $885.00

Siren's Shoes- Wild Rose Yvone15

I am in love with my new shoes. Aren’t they gorgeous? I’ve been lusting after them for ages, but was unsure. Finally, after getting a paycheck, I took the plunge. I mean, they were already sold out at Go Jane and I had lamented a few weeks earlier at losing my chance. So when I found them at Make Ma Chic, well, I knew it was kismet. So I got them.

In person the color is softer than in the pictures. They are more straight scarlet than burgundy. And I didn’t realize that they had rhinestones on the chains.

I can’t wait until I find an occasion to wear them. I’m going to a wedding on Memorial Day weekend, I think these will be perfect.

If you love them as much as I do you can get here them  for 28.60

Or you could go for them in black, nude or pink.

Paris Hilton Senorita Peep-Toe

Whenever celebrities announce they are launching a line I get nervous. I don’t know why as we all know that the only thing they are imparting to their line- be it clothes, perfume or shoes- is their name. And then the products come out and I am soothed. Most of the time.

I may hate Paris Hilton with a passion, but I can’t deny that she hired some wonderful shoe designers. Today my eye was caught by her Senorita peep-toe pump. It’s the bow, really. I’m a girly girl through and through so naturally I adore such girly girl embellishments as bows. Sure, they are everywhere right now, but I have yet to get bored of them. And my favorite style of bows is the open loop- meaning the bow is not necessarily overlarge in size but the loop parts of the bow are exaggerated and all “Here I am! Aren’t I gorgeous?” Now, these loops aren’t that oversize, but they are pretty large. And the third loop is a nice touch.

And then we’ve got the metallics. While basic black is always appealing (and I have been looking for the perfect black peep-toe pump), metallics are just awesome in that they draw attention to their fabulousness. I love the silver, but the pink calls my name. While metallic pink (and other jewel tones) can be a touch obnoxious, I like these. Maybe it’s because the sheen looks very even which tones down the garishness.

If you love these enough to excuse the awfulness of Ms. Hilton that you can buy these Macy's at where they are currently on sale for $66.75

Betsey Johnson Valll Wedges

I’m not a wedge person and never have been. Sure, I own a couple pairs but they are all low wedges- less than three inches high. I guess it’s because I associate high heels with formality and sensuality. Wedges are neither of those. Oh sure, there are some wedges out there that are great, some that could even be called sexy (see Amber of Shoeperwoman.com’s post on Kurt Gieger’s Hoshiko wedges for an example), but on a whole I think of wedges as “cute.”

Don’t get me wrong, I love cuteness, but when it comes to cuteness in shoe form I generally go for ballet flats. I’m just not a wedge person. So imagine my surprise when I saw these beauties on Zappo’s. These are cute wedges, not sexy wedges, but they are calling out to me. I love Betsey Johnson shoes almost indiscriminately so I shouldn’t really be surprised that she was the one to convert me.

I love the floral design so much. I swear, every year as soon as the mercury hits 70 for the first time I am gaga about florals. And the slight cartoonish vibe of those roses separates them from the many multitude of floral wedges out there this season. I prefer the dark contrast of the black and bright pink (oh how I love pink) of the ones above. But the white and pink are also great, although these roses are more traditional.

You can get them here for 89.95.

Dorothy Gale- Louboutin Style

Christian Louboutin Sonietta Cotton Gingham Flats

In my head blue gingham equals Dorothy Gale from Wizard of Oz. I really hope I’m not the only one.  Along with that gingham seems, in a word, wholesome. It’s apple pie and pigtails. It’s mothers who are home to greet their kids with a kiss after school. Of course, all that is a fairy tale world as much as Oz.

Now, one of the last words I’d use to describe Christian Louboutin is wholesome. While his designs are not unwholesome they generally veer more to the glitzy side of life. But these are definitely wholesome. I could see one wearing them with jeans and a cardigan or a simple white sundress. And it’s an image as inviting as warm apple pie.

If you want wholesomeness you can get them at Macy's for $495.
